Life is a precious and miraculous miracle that every couple should get to experience. Unfortunately, not all couples are able to conceive babies naturally and would miss out on this miracle, if it wasn’t for the kindness of others. Surrogacy is one of the most selflessness acts human beings can do for one another. It provides a way for couples unable to bear children, to be able to create off spring of there very own. Yes, surrogate mothers are being paid. But, when you consider what is involved with surrogacy, you begin to realize that money isn’t the driver of why these women do it. Picture it this way. If you went to a job interview, where they told you for the next two to three years you will be working on a project called “Surrogacy”. What project “Surrogacy” will involve is…Tender and Swollen Breasts, Fatigue, Implantation Bleeding, Nausea or Vomiting, Increased Sensitivity to Odors, Abdominal Bloating, Frequent Urination, Heat Flashes, Hair Loss, Stretch Marks, Yeast Infections, Swelling of Joints, Leg Cramps, Joint Pain, Permanent Weight Gain, and Hemorrhoids. Also, don’t forget…Extreme Pain of child birth, and risk of severe Hemorrhaging or Death. Oh, and we will only be paying you $26,500 over the next three years for doing this. I think you’ll tell them to go take that money and shove it up their…well I think you know where I am going with this. After thinking about it, how can one say these women are only doing it for the money…you can’t! So, if it’s not the money, then what is it? Well, most surrogates have already given birth to children of their very own and know first hand the miracle of life. Because surrogate mothers have already experience the wonders of life, these women could not imagine others not being able to share those experiences. So what drives women to be surrogates? Love! The love for children, the love you feel as you hold a newborn in you arms for the very first time. Love! The unconditional love children have towards others, the love you feel as a child says “I love you Mommy/Daddy”. Love! Love is what drives these women…not money!
